Course Description This in-depth, one-day course or 8 one hour web sessions provides administrators with the knowledge and tools necessary to deploy advanced security techniques on the Apple desktop and server platforms. Topics such as digital signing of email and documents, 2 factor logon options available for OS X, 802.1x wireless and wired network security, leveraging and protecting VPN and SSH connections. We supply all courseware and a catered lunch. Who Should Attend This class is meant for administrators interested in learning advanced security techniques for OS X Participants should be familiar with Mac OS X Server, DNS, and the basics using Terminal.
What You Will Learn- How to secure SSH for key based logon only.
- How to SSH to tunnel connections for Apple Remote Desktop
- How to setup and enable digital signing and encryption of internal emails.
- How to setup and install certificate based VPN and 802.1x access
- Setting up a CA on OS X
- Full drive encryption using TrueCrypt open source software.
- Two factor logon with either smart cards or Rohos devices
PrerequisitesStudents should have the following prerequisite knowledge prior to attending the course: - Basic knowledge of the Macintosh OS X Server, DNS and Terminal
